I’ve been in private practice for 7 years. While earning my doctorate from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, I trained for 5 years in mental health clinics around the Bay Area, treating a wide range of people with mental health diagnoses. Before that, I worked in two residential settings with youth who had complex trauma, as well as providing case management at a homeless shelter. My training has primarily been in psychodynamic therapy, but I have a wide interest in philosophical, spiritual, and other therapeutic approaches. These include existentialism, Buddhism, and gestalt practice. Additionally, I’m interested in culture as a lens for contextualizing difficulties my patients face. Some examples of themes we may explore include understanding generational trauma, the effects of marginalization, and sitting with privilege. My passion in life is being a therapist, as I’ve witnessed transformations that inspire me.
In my free time, I like to road bike and camp. I love to read many genres, such as professional psychology, literature, and sci-fi. Any recommendations you may have are welcome! I also like exploring the many offerings of the Bay Area, from restaurants to art shows and psychology events.
Finding a fit
Not sure who to ask for?
You do not have to decide. Call the practice line and describe what is going on, and we will talk as a team about who here is the right person for it: by specialty, by availability, and by who you are likely to feel understood by.
