Privacy policy

Last updated 6 September 2026.

What this policy covers

This policy describes what happens when you visit this website. It is separate from the privacy practices that govern your clinical record, which you receive in writing when you begin therapy with us. Nothing on this website forms part of a clinical record.

What we collect from you: nothing

This website has no contact form, no intake form, no appointment booking, no chat window, and no login. There is nowhere on this site to enter your name, your email address, or anything about your health. We cannot collect what we never ask for.

Cookies and tracking: none

This website sets no cookies. It runs no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics. Every file the site loads comes from our own server, including the fonts. Nothing you read here is reported to Google, to a social network, or to an advertiser.

If we add analytics in future, we will use a service that sets no cookies and records no information capable of identifying you, and we will update this page before doing so.

What our host records

Our website is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, as essentially every website does. These logs typically include the numeric address of the device making the request, the page requested, and the time. They are kept briefly for security and reliability, and we do not use them to identify visitors, do not combine them with any other information, and do not sell or share them.

Email and telephone

If you email or call us, we hold what you send us. Ordinary email is not a secure medium: it can be read in transit and it sits on servers we do not control. Please do not put private health information in an email. Anything of substance is better said on the phone, and we would rather you called.

Insurance

We are an out-of-network practice. We do not submit claims on your behalf and we do not transmit your health information electronically to any insurer. If you intend to seek out-of-network reimbursement, we give you a superbill and you submit it yourself, which means you decide what your insurer sees.

Links to other websites

This site links to a small number of outside pages, such as the California Board of Psychology. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy practices rather than ours.

Children

We work with children and teenagers, but this website is written for the adults who are looking for that care. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone through this site, at any age.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.

Under federal law, health care providers must give people who are uninsured, or who are insured but not using their insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical and mental health services. Because we are an out-of-network practice, this applies to most people who work with us.

  • You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you begin, and you can ask for one before you schedule anything.
  • If you schedule a service at least three business days in advance, we will give you the estimate in writing within one business day of scheduling.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute it.
  • Keep a copy of your estimate somewhere you can find it.

Because psychotherapy is open-ended by nature, an estimate for ongoing therapy is based on an expected number of sessions rather than a fixed total. We will talk with you about that number, and we will revise the estimate if the plan changes.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

Our fees, sliding scale and cancellation policy are set out in full on the fees and policies page.

If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. This website is not monitored and cannot respond to emergencies.
